  • Abstract
This paper develops a methodology for the analysis of impact of transistor model quality on the harmonic spectrum generated by the digital CMOS integrated circuits. Transistor model accuracy impacts the harmonic spectrum generated by the digital circuits. More accurate transistor models provide steeper spectrum roll-off while the less accurate transistor models provide less steep spectrum roll-off. Analysis of the spectrum roll-off is performed by using both BSIM4 and BSIM3v3 transistor models. Spectrum roll-off by using BSIM4 transistor model is steeper as compared to BSIM3v3. It is also observed that in terms of spectrum roll-off the hybrid latch flip-flop (HLFF) is best design as compared to other two flip-flops and latches.
