Abstract :
Summary form only as given. Leadership through effective team goal setting techniques reduces isolation. Isolation is a real-life problem experienced by many managers today. This problem is becoming more prevalent as technology advances. Face to face communication diminishes as more workers telecommute and business expands internationally. Managers have an obligation to apply tools and models that have demonstrated significant personal and corporate advantages to managing in isolation. This paper examines two corporate cases that use the team goal setting process to achieve outstanding results. Different techniques are discussed demonstrating that leading in isolation is a choice that will no longer deliver results required to compete in an international marketplace
