Abstract
The Electricity Association´s Load Research Group (LRG) is responsible for a continuing programme of nationally based projects, aimed at identifying the load characteristics of the main customer classes. Until recently, the prime focus was on tracking, at half-hourly intervals, the total electrical load of final customers; specific end-uses received comparatively little attention. Essentially this reflected the limited applications for end-use data, and the high cost of acquiring it. Advances in both of these areas have resulted in end-use monitoring now receiving much greater emphasis
