Abstract
A new method of interpreting dissolved gas analysis results for power transformers is described which attempts to tackle what is seen as the main weakness of existing schemes: the difficulty of defining a normal condition. A simple scoring system based on results from known problems is used to provide a consistent and objective assessment of the seriousness of results, to improve the effectiveness of life management decisions.
