Abstract
The concept of control entropy and control identification entropy is introduced for studies of complexity in identification and adaptation. Algebraic and asymptotic properties of the entropies are derived. For problems of robust stabilization, control, and control identification, entropies are obtained for systems with uncertain gains and unstructured additive uncertainties. Relations between identification and adaptation complexities are discussed. Results obtained demonstrate a trade off between identification and adaptation complexities, namely, the better the identification, the less complex the adaptation
