Abstract :
Multi pulses regulation (MPR) control technique, a novel control technique for the control of switching DC-DC converter is proposed. Unlike traditional Pulse Regulation (PR) control technique which realizes the control of switching DC-DC converters by the corresponding combination of two different pulses, MPR control technique extends these two different pulses to multi pulses, and thus overcome some drawback of PR control technique, such as relatively large output voltage ripple. Buck converter operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) is taken as an example to illustrate the operation principle of MPR control technique. Simulation and experimental results show that MPR control buck converter has much better transient performance than traditional PWM buck converter, and much lower output voltage ripple than PR control technique.
