Abstract
In this paper, a new zero current transition (ZCT) boost converter employing split inductors is proposed. Not only the main switch but also the auxiliary one achieves zero current turn-offs. Since the output diode does not suffer from excessive voltage stress, the proposed converter can be practically implemented as well. Additionally, the proposed converter does not have any auxiliary diode in resonant path. Mode analysis of steady-state operation is provided in detail. To confirm the validity of the proposed converter, its operation and performance are verified with 400 W prototype hardware.
