Abstract
Configuration management is defined as the activities identifying the configuration items, which are the outputs throughout the entire development life cycle, controlling the changes to the configuration, and managing the information related configuration management activities. Hardware and software components in a computer system are hierarchically and functionally related with each other. Such complexity prevents the researchers and the developers from building an efficient configuration management system that fits into a computer system development project. This paper describes a simple and integrated configuration management system methodology, which can be applied to the development environment for large or midrange computer systems
