Abstract :
In this paper, a practical application of the equivalence principle for efficient evaluation of coupling between two phased array antennas is presented. The original antenna interaction problem was simplified by breaking it down into three sub-problems, where the transmission, propagation, and reception phenomena are handled separately. In this way, not only does the computational burden get significantly reduced, but also the problem size becomes independent of the distance in between the two antennas, regardless of the numerical method of choice.
