Abstract :
The characteristics of the surge-protective devices used in commercial surge suppressors for low-voltage AC power circuits are briefly presented. Methods for evaluating the performance of the surge suppressors are described. More than ten commercial products were evaluated. A comparison is made among these units. Recommendations for selecting and connecting surge suppressors are outlined
