Abstract :
The present paper was done for the design of a machine tool used in the manufacturing process of lamellar forming for heat exchangers made of stainless steel. It present the working cycle that the machine tool must execute in order to attains the needed shape for the part and the adopted design that fulfils the needed characteristics. The designed machine tool has smaller dimensions then the present models on the market, due to the hydraulic actuating system, that allows for high applied forces even for the small size of the control devices. Also, it has a very flexible architecture being conceived from the start as a modular design.
