Abstract :
The automated monitoring and control systems represents a segment on a continuous development, where beneficiaries and developers work together in order to obtain notable results. The results obtain in such systems are due to significant development of the used entities like RTU (remote terminal unit). This component has an important role in the informational flux management which is transmitted between systempsilas entities. Based on a low price-quality report, the RTU functions can be overtaken easily by intelligent modems which satisfy the requirements of a complex monitoring and control system, expanding the data acquisition area beyond what was possible by connecting through cables. The easiness with which they can be installed, programmed and maintained makes this a viable solution for any type of system, significantly increasing the applicability area.
