Abstract :
The paper investigates the influence of the quantization noise on the normalized frequency estimation of a sine wave by three-point Interpolated Discrete Fourier Transform (IpDFT) method with maximum side lobe decay windows. The expression of the uncertainty of the normalized frequency is derived. Simulation results confirm the accuracy of the derived expression. Besides, the uncertainties of the normalized frequency estimations obtained by three-point IpDFT method and by IpDFT method with maximum side lobe decay windows are compared. From this comparison some important conclusions are drawn.
