Abstract :
The authors consider a firm manufacturing high-volume products with short life cycles under time-based competition. To achieve rapid changeovers for successive products, they consider investment in flexible technology. In addition, they explore investment in new product development cycle time reduction. A model is developed to analyze the strategic operations-marketing-R&D interface
