Abstract :
In this paper, the simulation and measurement results of dual-band planar inverted-F antenna for application in ISM, HIPERLAN, and UNII bands are presented. The dualband planar inverted-F antenna is fabricated on a FR4 substrate. The lower band is associated with the longer open strips while the upper band is associated with the shorter open strip of the proposed dual-band planar inverted-F antenna. The proposed dual-band planar inverted-F antenna has good agreement between the measurement and simulation results in return loss. The proposed antenna has a 10 dB return loss with bandwidth 260 MHz (2,310-2,570 MHz) in the lower band and 960 MHz (5,120-6,080 MHz) in the upper band. The proposed dual-band planar inverted-F antenna covers the ISM, HIPERLAN, and UNII bands. The maximum antenna efficiencies are 65.99 % and 78.85 % at 2.50 and 5.40 GHz, respectively.
