Abstract
In mass-customization, products are designed, manufactured, tested and delivered according to a customers stated requirements. A generic IDEF0 model of a mass-customized production (MCP) system is presented. IDEF0 was found to be a powerful function modeling technique for developing a clear representation of each complex aspect of MCP. An organization´s value chain which consists of marketing, product development, manufacture and delivery requires many special emerging technologies to create MCP architectures. This paper identifies several such technologies useful for supporting MCP. These models will help individual companies in engineering and technology management to plan for making a move toward MCP
