Title :
Investment in learning capital: enhancing the rate of learning by doing in semiconductor manufacturing
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
Summary form only given. Learning by doing occurs in the semiconductor industry through manufacturing yield improvements that result in cost reductions. While all semiconductor firms learn through engineering analysis of production volume to improve yields, firms differ substantially in the level and rate of improvement of yields. In this paper, a set of physical and human capital factors is identified that influences the rate of learning by doing
