Abstract :
The turn-off time of the RSD (reversely switched dynistor) switch is investigated by experiments in this paper. According to its special operating mode, the turn-off criterion of the RSD and a measuring method of the turn-off time are proposed. The measuring platform of the turn-off time is designed and established. The measuring precision is 1.1 mus. The experimental results show that the turn-off time of the RSD is in the order from several tens to a hundred microseconds. The increase of the minority lifetime in n-base region makes the turn-off time increase significantly. The turn-off time also increases with enhancing the discharge voltage.
