Abstract :
This paper presents design examples of full electronically and mixed beam steering antennas for broadband mobile satellite communication. Custom designed multifunctional MMIC devices enable beam steering and polarization control. The full phased array antenna Integrated with an appropriate MODEM can provide unique and high value solution for different applications that require Broadband communication while “on the move”. The solution opens the door for many commercial and defense/HLS applications that require Broadband communications for moving vehicles. The concept was demonstrated by successfully tested one - and two-way PAA (Phased Array Antenna) prototypes.
