Abstract :
All-optical wavelength conversion for WDM, gated mixing for TDM, and spectral inversion for dispersion correction have been demonstrated in simple three-wave mixing and in cascade mixing devices. Low conversion loss (3 dB) and wide bandwidths (70 nm) can be obtained with moderate pump powers (tens of mW).
