Abstract :
We investigate bandwidth allocation in LTE Advanced systems employing Type-I relays. We optimize the bandwidth and power usage under constraints on required rate, bandwidth and transmit power. We study a scenario in which the relay acts as a dedicated forwarder in the downlink for a User Equipment (UE). Our results indicate that upto 50% reduction in total power consumption can be achieved by this method.
