Abstract :
A description is given of a research and education program initiated at Lehigh University to address some of the issues of emerging new large-area electronic systems. These systems include flat panel displays, image sensors, and advanced printers. This program is an extension of the already well established more traditional microelectronics education and research program of Lehigh. The major research thrust of this program is the study and development of high-performance thin-film transistors in polysilicon. These devices will be key circuit components for advanced large-area systems
