Abstract :
We have carried out simulations to compare the chirped return to zero (CRZ) systems of Bergano et al. (see OFC 1998, paper PD 12) and the dispersion managed soliton (DMS) systems of Favre, et al. (see Electron. Lett., vol. 33, p. 2135, 1997). Our results show remarkable similarities, indicating the convergence of soliton and non-soliton formats in practice.
