Abstract :
This paper reports a new method using a NIR Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI), plus conjugated gold nanoparticle, to achieve ultra-sensitive biochemical detection. Due to the combination of interferometric measurement, long interaction length and nanoparticle amplification, the MZI chip can detect the analyte with a equipollent concentrations of 105 molecular/ml or 10-14 g/ml, which is approaching the ultimate goal of single molecular detection.
