  • Abstract
To increase the fault tolerance for cascaded H-bridge inverter, a novel powerful driver is used for H-bridge drive and protection. This driving-circuit could drive four high power IGBTs simultaneously, with slowly decreasing grid-voltage and softly turn-off based short circuit protection. To obtain a balanced line to line voltage with the cell-fault inverter, neutral shift based control methods is adopted, the output are increased than traditional control method. A cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter prototype with this novel driver is designed. The experiment results show that the reliability of the system is then enhanced.
