Abstract :
This paper deals with the smoke spreading in the road tunnel issue. At the first part we deal with the genesis of the smoke during a fire in the tunnel and its characteristics. We have focused on the characteristics which influence its speed and direction of the smoke spreading in the tunnel as well as its structure that influence the people who are present inside the tunnel. The paper is also dealing with the influence towards the tunnel itself and the traffic. The conclusion of the paper deals with tunnel ventilation that has the greatest influence on the smoke spreading in the closed tunnel space. This work serves as a theoretical basis for a model the spread of smoke in a road tunnel.
