The risk-bearing capability refers to the ability that an organization can use to endure and deal effectively with risks. In essence, it is an organizational capacity of adapting to the uncertain environment. The purpose of this paper concentrates on helping organizations build up sustainable competitive advantages for changes through developing improved risk-bearing capability based on the uncertain environment. There is a currently board consensus that the organizational environment changes faster than before and it also becomes more complicated and unpredicted. So, in the first part of the paper, the sources and the impacts of the organizational environment uncertainties have been introduced. Secondly, the key factors influencing the risk-bearing capability have been summarized. It is proposed that the degree of the risk-bearing capability is positively correlated with how much resources the organization has, whether the organization´s capacity is strong or weak, and its decision-makers´ psychological endurance of risks. Risks are always accompanied with opportunities. So improving risk-bearing capability can help an organization keep smoothing operating conditions at an acceptable higher risk level. The approaches of how to improving risk-bearing capability have been discussed in the end. An organization needs to modify and improve their methods continuously in the risk management practices, then make up a set of adaptable strategies and tactics for handling risks according to various uncertain factors.
