Under current business environment, product development becomes an important way for a firm to enhance its competitive power. Yet in practice, most product development project fail. This paper tries to discover the key elements for its success or failure by way of survey investigation, whose conclusion can be categorized into 6 issues, i.e. organization management, knowledge management, product development and information technology, project planning, project control, operation capacity integration.
