Abstract
A current mode pixel circuit and driving scheme for active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display are proposed in this paper. The pixel consists of four thin film transistors (TFTs) and one capacitor. By using the boost function, a low data current can be programmed within a reasonable time and the slow driving drawback of current mode pixel can be eliminated. The simulation results show that driving current error is within 2.3% when threshold variation is ±0.5V and carrier mobility variation is ±10%. A 10nA driving current can be programmed within 80μs. The proposed pixel circuit can be used in small and medium size AMOLED display panels.
