Abstract :
Coupling magnetic metamaterial cells with half-loop antenna not only makes the resulting antenna operates at a very lower frequency but also focuses the radiation pattern in one direction instead of having a null. Adding one Split Ring Resonators (SRR) cell behind a half-loop antenna permits to have multiband antenna behaviour. The lower frequency depends mainly on the dimension of the SRR cell and the higher one is related to the resonance frequency of the half-loop antenna alone.
