Abstract :
This paper presents the design, simulation and measurement of a wideband antenna for TV White Spaces. The antenna covers the frequency range from 470 MHz to 860 MHz. The goal is to design an antenna which does not exceed the dimensions of a smartphone - in this case 59 mm × 115 mm. Due to this very limited area a reduction of the radiation efficiency is accepted with a minimum of 50 %. The antenna is evaluated by the measurement of the radiation pattern and the efficiency which is carried out in an anechoic chamber. The future use for this type of antenna could be a portable device for cognitive radio.
