Abstract
CAMRa (Chilbolton Advanced Meteorological Radar) operates at 3 GHz, where propagation effects are generally sufficiently small that they can be neglected. At this comparatively low frequency, the use of a large antenna provides the good sensitivity and high resolution needed for long range observations of precipitation. The paper describes the radar facility together with examples of the various measured parameters in different precipitation conditions
