Abstract :
In this paper, a novel sliding mode observer is presented for achieving the position sensorless vector control based on estimating the rotor position of permanent magnet synchronous machines. Compared to conventional sliding mode observer (SMO), the proposed observer based on sliding mode observer and phase-locked loop (PLL) can effectively reduce the influence of the sliding mode chattering and improve the precision of the rotor position estimation. The results of simulation show that the novel sliding mode observer is more effective than the conventional method.
