Abstract :
This paper reports a technique for manipulation of carbon nanotubes (CNTs). A photoconductive layer capable of generating a non-uniform electric field at illuminated sites was used to optically induce dielectrophoretic forces for manipulating CNTs. The light patterns enabled a variety of flexible modes for CNT manipulation since it was possible to dynamically reconfigure the optical patterns. This approach can achieve a variety of manipulation and patterning of CNTs. The developed method may be promising for patterning of CNTs-based nano-sensors.
