Abstract
A special-purpose two-dimensional standing wave detector for measuring resonant electric field distributions at the flat lid on microwave housings and packages is described, and its use as a diagnostic and design development tool for module housings is demonstrated. Empirical and analytical relationships between measurable quantities and the electric field are presented.<>
