Abstract :
In this paper we give a general scheme for investigation of the problem of analytical description of 3D objects using raster altimeter data. During the last few years, interest in 3D data describing of urban areas has increased. This data is needed for a variety of applications such as town planning, architecture, microclimate investigations or transmitter placement for telecommunication. Our investigations are concerned with the feasibility of building extraction using laser data, obtained by airborne laser scanners, as input data.
