Abstract
The equivalent pi circuit of a transmission line based on distributed parameter line model has traditionally been derived based on differential equations governing the relationship between voltage and current along the line. This paper presents an alternative method for deducing the model by dividing the long line into an infinite number of segments and modeling each segment using nominal pi circuit.
