Abstract :
This paper proposes to utilize an AC/DC power converter circuit with an energy recovery snubber for superconducting magnetic energy storage. In this circuit, both di/dt and dv/dt stress on switching devices are very low compared with conventional circuits, and the energy in the snubber capacitors can be fully recovered. Operating characteristics of the circuit are studied experimentally. A multi-parallel configuration is studied in order to achieve high current handling capability and harmonics reduction
