Abstract :
This paper outlines the test programs that are underway at EPI in the testing and analysis of composite nickel-hydrogen battery components and lithium-ion batteries for space power applications. These test results provide valuable data on watt hours per kilogram of advanced nickel-hydrogen storage systems and their direct comparison to lithium ion. Unfortunately, the lithium ion test batteries are in manufacturing along with the K1100 thermal sleeve. Therefore test descriptions for both systems are described in detail. Actual data and results will be presented throughout the year at various conferences
