Abstract
The design forms of the branching microstrip lines are studied experimentally for microwave power divider and hybrid designs. Three different forms of the branching lines ; four-way cascade, N-way power dividers and cascade quadrature hybrid are investigated. They are designed and simulated and the characteristics of them are determined using the Genesys CAD program. The second and the third design forms are implemented, etched on a Duroid 3003 substrate and tested experimentally at C-band. The obtained results indicate that the branching lines of N-way power divider give good performance and better in isolation, insertion, and bandwidth than those of the quadrature hybrid except the power handling.
