Abstract :
This paper describes an adaptive power and bit allocation algorithm for a multiple input multiple output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO OFDM) system operating in a frequency selective fading channel. The proposed algorithm is based on the use of a Lagrange multiplier method. It is realized as a one step procedure and hence does not require an iterative implementation process. The presented simulation results show that the algorithm operates successfully in multiple user access scenarios without scarifying power and diversity gain
