Abstract
This paper presents a new energy-efficient routing protocol (EERP) in the construction of wireless sensor network, in which the residual energy makes the nodes with more energy become the cluster-head preferentially, and the cluster radius decreases with the decrease of the distance between the cluster and the sink. Simulation results indicate that the EERP effectively balances the energy consumption and achieves an improvement on the network lifetime.
