Abstract

The description of the SCM (Source Code Management) data domain is shown and a general introduction of the ClearCase software is given. The basic functional capabilities and application fields are reviewed. The usage guidelines are presented. Today ClearCase is the most advanced system of version and configuration control. It is provided with the latest achievements in the field of SCM. As ClearCase is the system of corporative level, one can recommend it to all the enterprises, whose designers´ number exceeds 5. The software is capable of showing its full advantages only when used in large enterprises with a great number of designers. ClearCase becomes indispensable when the matter concerns the unification of regionally remote designer crews.
