Abstract :
Multi-homing is increasingly being employed by large enterprises to extract good performance and reliability from their connections. The integration of existing and emerging heterogeneous wireless networks requires the design of intelligent failure detection and recovery schemes to enable mobile users to switch between networks and experience uninterrupted service continuity anywhere, anytime. Real deployment of such mobility strategies remains a significant challenge. This paper, introduces a novel scheme "global controller" that is a technique operating with mobile IP version 6 (MIPv6) global addresses. Aims to reduce the number of dropped data packets, the mobile device will face during its communication with its destination while moving away from its home network, keeping in mind providing mobility over a wide range of access technologies. A careful selection of a better Wireless LAN is important to realize the performance improvements for voice over IP(VoIP) applications. Our analysis shows that multi-homing and switching between WLANs and cleverly scheduling traffic across the networks that can improve the mobile node throughput and utilization by up to 20%, and reduce the traffic queuing delay by up to 25% compared to a use of a single network.
