Abstract
High index sub wavelength waveguides form a new platform for highly nonlinear photonic devices. Here we review the recent progress in the fundamental theory of nonlinear pulse propagation in these waveguides and highlights the opportunities that these waveguides have opened up in terms of photonic devices for signal processing.
