Abstract :
This paper summarizes the user interface and interaction design strategy for developing applications in the context of India-UK Advanced Technology Centre (IU-ATC) of excellence in next generation networks systems and services. The paper does not go into detail about any of the specific developed applications. Instead it describes briefly the user survey and studies conducted in both UK and India and their applications for developing adaptive user interfaces through user modeling. We have also discussed about prospects of using new modalities of interaction like eye-gaze trackers or head trackers for everyday computing like online banking, shopping, travelling and so on.
