Abstract :
We study comparisons of deterministic computational methods for 1-D charged transport in nano-devices and present a new ballistic-hydrodynamic system (BHD) capable to handle the quasi-ballistic transport regime corresponding to ultrashort channels with respect to the applied bias, bulk mobility and saturation speed of the device. Our analysis and computations focus on the appropriate macroscopic approximations under regimes associated with the form of the mobility.
