Abstract
New and efficient algorithms for texture mapping computer graphics images have been developed. A number of different texture mapping methods have been implemented and results compared and analyzed. The basis of this study was to develop real time algorithms useful in designing graphics processor architectures using parallelism and high performance low cost elements such as the i860 microprocessor. Several methods for reducing the inverse transformations from screen to texture space are described. Since texture antialias filtering is one of the most computational and time demanding aspects of texturing, a fast antialiasing method based on the use of a bounding rectangle for the inverse image of a screen pixel along with the first integral of the texture map has been developed
