Abstract :
In this paper, the authors have proposed, analyzed and demonstrated a microwave FM-AM signal separator circuit at X-band of the microwave spectrum. This circuit has a flat region in its frequency response which does not respond to any frequency variation of the input signal. So, it suppresses the FM part of the input FM-AM signal and delivers the AM only at its output. The resulting AM can be detected by using a microwave diode detector followed by a low pass filter. The novelty of the design is that it requires no down conversion of the input microwave signal.
