Abstract :
This paper reviews recent technology advances in modulation formats and techniques for 40 G long-haul WDM transmission including RZ-DPSK, RZ-DQPSK, and polarization division multiplexing. Future enabling technologies for >100 G long-haul transmission are also discussed.
